Operations Manager
Recruitment 24/7 is currently seeking the services of an Experienced Operations Manager for one of our clients based in the Townsville area. You will be responsible for operations in a very large area from Gladstone in the South to Cape York in the North and out to the Qld Border.
 
For the successful applicant (depending on experience and skills) on offer is a very generous base salary, plus a company vehicle, mobile phone, super and more importantly the opportunity to lead an already successful and results driven team of workers (consisting of approximately ten office staff, four field supervisors and about ninety Field Operators at any one given time.)
 
The position reports directly to the Qld General Manager. You will be responsible for the utilisation and effective and efficient management of all field and office based personnel, equipment and machinery involved in the delivery of services in accordance with contracts held in the designated area of operations.
 
Leading by example, your role will be primarily to manage the current contract with the view that the successful applicant will be able to grow the business even further over a period of time.
 
Key Criteria in order to be considered for this role:
  • Have held a leadership position for a minimum period of five years
  • It would be an advantage if you had an understanding of a power distribution business, however this is not essential
  • Comprehensive understanding of the business issues surrounding companies in the contracting industry
  • Must have been responsible for contract and commercial outcomes for a minimum period of five years
  • There will be a fair amount of client engagement in this role and as a result of this it is a must that you have great people skills with the ability to build professional relationships
  • Must have had previous experience and exposure dealing with human resource and industrial relations issues
  • Desirable that you have experience with IT computer systems and mobility solutions
  • Financial responsibilities will be to manage to current contract and be able to meet the KPI’s attached to it
  • Must be a good communicator and be the type of person that can fix a problem if it should occur
  • Experience in operational and people management roles with remote team members.
  • Record of achievement in previous roles
  • Ideally, tertiary qualifications in a technical or business based discipline
  • Experience with managing an operational budget and regular management reporting, knowledge of P&L would also be a plus
  • Previous experience mobilising administering contracts from start to finish
  • Coordinate a team of professionals and liaise with all project stakeholders
  • Good track record with regards to safety and the environment
  • Well developed programming and sequencing skills
 
It is essential that you have a current drivers licence and be able to pass a full medical including a drug test before commencement of employment with my client.
