Recruitment 24/7 has a vacancy for a Senior Project Officer for our Government Client based in the Nambour. This is a 12 month contract role with a very good pay rate.

The purpose of the role of the Senior Project Officer – PMO is to:

  • Coordinate defined changes throughout the program, workstreams, and projects, by ensuring successful completion of deliverables within agreed performance criteria.
  • Initiate, influence and maintain relationships with and between internal and external stakeholders, facilitate effective communications and foster relationships through lessons learned, feedback mechanisms and management of expectations.
  • Undertake risk and issues identification, assessment and mitigation activities by ensuring risks and issues are documented, reviewed and escalated as appropriate.

Your role :

  • Fulfil the accountabilities of this role in accordance with Queensland Health’s core values, as outlined above.
  • Support business change activities within program/workstream/projects(s), including business change management, benefits realisation, communications, stakeholder engagement and training.
  • Maintain effective relationships with and between key stakeholders to support the management of needs, expectations and change.
  • Coordination of quality activities to contribute to a culture of continuous improvement across the Program.
  • Provide expertise and guidance to stakeholders on the management and reporting of risks and issues within the PMO Integrated Risk/Issue Management Framework.

Mandatory qualifications/Professional registration/Other requirements

  • Appropriate tertiary and/or post-graduate qualifications in Program and/or Project Management or high level of experience in complex projects.
  • Experience on complex systems and/ or data migration projects.
  • A Queensland ‘C’ class driving licence

How you will be assessed?

You will be assessed on your ability to demonstrate the following key capabilities, knowledge and experience. Within the context of the responsibilities described above under ‘Your role’, the ideal applicant will be someone who can demonstrate the following:

  • Proven experience within the delivery of large scale complex project(s), preferably in the health care industry.
  • Knowledge and application of appropriate project management methodologies (preferably PRINCE2), and an ability to provide sound advice and recommendations on the use of appropriate project management techniques, methodologies and tools.
  • Ability to maintain stakeholder relationships to support effective business change, including the ability to influence key stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and manage one or more defined communication channels and/or stakeholder groups, and facilitate the business change decision-making processes, and the planning and implementation of change.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the application of formal standards and best practice principals (for example, risk management) in a complex service delivery organisation.

To be successful in the role you must have

  • Australian citizenship
  • Extensive experience in a Senior Project Officer role
  • Current Driver’s Licence,
  • Be able to pass a drug & alcohol test
  • Criminal History Check
