Recruitment 24/7 currently has a vacancy for an Information Technology position as a Senior Data Analyst for our Government Client based in the Brisbane CBD. This is a 4 month (18 week) contract starting on 6th July 2015.
Working in this Government Department you will be responsible for:
Working with various levels of the organisation to define/refine performance objectives, metrics, data sources, analytics and reports to establish baseline measures and regular assessments to identify new opportunities for continuous improvement.
Assist the team in defining and producing high-level reports and analysis to aid in the review of performance against the program plan.
Provide relevant training/briefings and/or develop appropriate support material to assist the team and management in developing their skills in analysing and using performance information effectively.
Prepare and submit high quality project documentation, submissions, briefing notes, presentations and other correspondence as required.
Develop relevant systems, processes and methodologies for analysing, reshaping and presenting data and information from a variety sources to different levels of management.
Generate appropriate management dashboards and reports, including the utilisation of appropriate data manipulation and visualisation tools such as Microsoft Excel, Tableau, Spotfire, Survey Monkey databases and other relevant tools.
Liaise with data owners and subject matter experts in extracting, analysing and interpreting data/information and trends.
Work independently and collaboratively to deliver client-ready Powerpoint and dashboard with complex data presentation content
Contribute to a culture of innovation, continuous improvement and high performance within the department.

Experience using enterprise-level database or data sets would be highly regarded.

Qualifications and skills required:
Qualification in ICT
Previous experience in a Senior Data Analyst role
Previous Government experience, preferred
It is essential that you have a current driver’s licence, be able to pass a drug test and also a Police check before commencement of employment. The start date is ASAP.
Permanent Australian Visa or Australian citizenship required.
