Senior Business Analyst

As the Senior Business Analyst you will be a part of a team to undertake the transformation of its Vocational Educational and training systems and processes.

As the project’s Senior Business Analyst you will work within a dedicated project team to identify and map current state of processes, utilise tools to analyse those processes and prepare future and improved designs as well as participate in determining the necessary changes to arrive at the improved state.

Key duties and accountabilities

  • Document and analyse business rules governing the implementation of business processes.
  • Monitor and measure the effectiveness of processes to ensure consistent values delivery.
  • Record and analyse baseline process metrics to aid in benefits realisation in the To-be process models.
  • Participate in the shaping, deployment and implementation of a business-wide continuous improvement program.
  • Work directly with internal process owners, team leads and project team to drive process improvement projects within their areas of responsibilities.
  • Analyse and manage workflow capabilities through business process design.
  • Maintain knowledge documentation, business rules and process model libraries.
  • Perform business process mapping & analysis by:
    • Conducting workshop sessions with process stakeholders;
    • Facilitating brainstorming sessions to identify gaps and chart out improvement action plans
    • Mapping functional solution to technical solution – create to-be process maps and functional design.
    • Analysing previous process maps to aid in the creation of up to date process maps.
    • Develop positive team ethos within the immediate workgroup through positive participation and communication.
    • Understand team dynamics and the effective utilisation of different personality types within a team
    • Experience and practical understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and IDEF0 Functional Modelling Method and utilising the LEAN toolkit to ascertain baseline metrics and identify process improvement opportunities

Experience Required

  • Extensive experience in a Senior Business Analyst role or a role requiring business process analysis and improvement.
  • Experience in: business process reengineering/redesign and implementation, change management, recording process metrics, working with senior level stakeholders, writing user stories and use cases and  in working in an AGILE environment, with close liaison with developers, testers, other business analysts, change analysts and business representatives.
  • Exceptional problem-solving capabilities with a focus on simplification.
  • High level written and oral communication skills and excellent organisational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with little supervision and as part of a team in the design, preparation and delivery of solutions to clients.
  • Experience understanding business process dynamics and the change management process

It is essential that you have a current driver’s licence, be able to pass a drug test and also a Police check before commencement of employment. The start date is 5th October 2015.
